Comment: A budget Aria. Tuned somewhere between the Aria and Kato Technical performance is less than the Aria

Solid set overall, just a hair tizzy in the upper-treble at times.

Great all-rounder with excellent Bass presentation. No recessed mids or shouty/reduced treble. Cable is bad. Comes in 4 colors.

Woohoo another harman/df! More bass than OG Zero, but doesn't feel as clean and open. Clarity is similar as OG Zero because of the boosted bass and decreaed treble. Z300 is a better version of this with more treble and better build/cable/packaging.

Average Technical & Tuning Grades

Average Tunign Grade

C+
  • Tonality is generally agreeable, though a few bumps remind you of its limits. Certain tracks spotlight its tonal quirks.

Average Technical Grade

C-
  • The tuning renders a cramped window into the music, with nuance fading fast. Expect grainy textures to creep in.
Bass C-
Expect a conservative bass profile that maintains order but little excitement. Basslines track along but rarely stand out.
Mids C-
It delivers a workable midrange that could benefit from smoother transitions. Timbre isn't quite convincing yet.
Treble C-
Highs are present enough yet carry a bit of grain and splash. Busy mixes can still feel a bit splashy.
Dynamics D
Volume shifts feel constrained, so build-ups plateau before releasing. Build-ups plateau before resolving.
Soundstage C
It creates a serviceable arc that keeps instruments apart but rarely draws you into the space. It sounds more intimate than expansive.
Details C-
You get the outline of textures, though the finer brushstrokes remain faint. Background information is audible but soft.
Imaging C-
Average imaging delivers reasonable localization while still lacking pinpoint specificity. You get a reasonable idea of placement.
Gaming C
Minimal environmental definition provides only general audio cues. Suitable for games where positioning isn't critical.

B-
  • It sounds pleasant overall, with some uneven spots that hint at room for refinement. Vocals remain pleasant despite the imperfections.

Average Technical Grade

D+
  • The tuning renders a cramped window into the music, with nuance fading fast. Expect grainy textures to creep in.
Mids B
The mids are articulate and well-balanced, lending body to instruments. Instrument layering remains stable.
Treble E+
Treble leans dark, softening cymbals and trimming extension. Brightness is replaced with a murky haze.
Dynamics C+
You get reliable macrodynamics, with micro shifts that remain only adequate. A reliable performer for most tracks.
Soundstage B
The presentation supplies a believable venue outline where each instrument owns its pocket of space. The stage opens up nicely for live cuts.
Gaming C
Minimal environmental definition provides only general audio cues. Suitable for games where positioning isn't critical.
